I was twelve years old whenever I caught my first wave. At this point in my life, I lived on the Gulf of Mexico or dare I say the Lake of Mexico. It is mostly flat unless there is a tropical storm/hurricane nearby. The picture of me catching my first wave was lost somewhere in my move from the East coast to the West coast. Whenever I find it, I will post it to this blog.
It is probably the most cringe worthy picture I've seen in my existence because of my stance. However, it is a perfect symbol of the progress I've made in and out of the water. It has almost been ten years since the photo was taken and my surfing has improved tremendously. One of my favorite things about life is beginnings.
