After I sewed my first pair of bottoms, I knew I had to come up with a name for the company. I tried every combination of words that started with the letter "S" for more than a week. I went to yoga one afternoon and I couldn't stop thinking about a song I had been singing while sewing. This song is called Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones. I wondered why the song was named Sympathy for the Devil. I personally thought the name should be No Sympathy for the Devil. Then, it hit me. There it was.
No Sympathy Swimwear. Boom. It felt right. I immediately called Nagle after my yoga session and told her I found the name. Since then, I have shortened the name to No Sympathy Swim. It looks cleaner and I like saying it as though it is a city and state. No Sympathy, Swim. I envision it as what an alien would shout to a fellow alien, if they dropped them off on planet Earth. We are all just swimming on a planet where society shows no sympathy. I plan on changing this.
